Collier County, Fla.—March 28, 2016: The Collier County Canvassing Board met on Friday and certified the official results of the 2016 Presidential Preference Primary. All ballots cast in the election have been reviewed by the Canvassing Board. The results include ballots cast provisionally, by mail, and in person during Early Voting and on Election Day.
Of the 186,237 eligible voters in Collier County, 49.8 percent cast a ballot:
- 30,644 ballots cast by Mail/Absentee
- 25,839 ballots cast by Early Voting
- 36,226 ballots cast on Election Day
- 81 ballots cast Provisionally
TOTAL: 92,790 ballots cast
In compliance with Florida law, the Collier County Canvassing Board will conduct a manual audit of the election at the Supervisor of Elections office on Friday, April 1 at 10:00 a.m. The manual audit is open to both the public and media for observation.
The audit requires that the Canvassing Board randomly select a race and precinct to be manually audited. At Friday’s meeting, the Canvassing Board randomly selected the City of Naples City Council race at Precinct 464.
