Florida is a Closed Primary State
Collier County, Fla. - March 11, 2016: Florida is a Closed Primary State and only voters who are registered members of a political party may vote for their respective party\'s candidate in Primary Elections. Only voters who are registered as Democrat or Republican are eligible to vote for presidential candidates during the Presidential Preference Primary.
Voters can view their voter registration status by visiting www.CollierVotes.com or by calling our office at (239)252-VOTE. Voters can change their registration status at any time, but to be eligible for a Primary Election, they must make that change by the voter registration deadline, which is 29 days prior to that election. February 16 was the deadline for the Presidential Preference Primary.
Voter registration updates can be made by downloading a voter registration application from www.CollierVotes.com. Upon completion, voters must sign and date the form and return it to our office.
