Collier County, Fla. - September 23, 2015: Throughout September, the Collier County Supervisor of Elections office has been engaging high school students in the electoral process by challenging them to register and pre-register to vote.
A total of 12 schools are participating in the third annual High School Voter Registration Challenge, which includes three first-time participants: Everglades City School, First Baptist Academy and Seacrest Country Day School.
Approximately 584 registrations have been received by the elections office since the challenge kicked off and there are still more schools scheduled to conduct their voter registration drives. In order to vote, residents must be a citizen of the United States of America and must be at least 18 years old. Residents under 18 are able to pre-register as early as 16 years old.
