Collier County, Fla. - September 2, 2014: The Collier County Canvassing Board met today and certified the official results of the 2014 Primary Election. All absentee and provisional ballots cast in the election have been reviewed by the Canvassing Board. The results include ballots cast provisionally, by mail, and in person during Early Voting and on Election Day.
Of the 185,016 voters eligible for the Primary Election, 20.97% cast ballots:
- 22,930 ballots cast by Mail/Absentee
- 6,246 ballots cast by Early Voting
- 9,598 ballots cast on Election Day
- 31 ballots cast Provisionally
TOTAL: 38,805 ballots cast
In compliance with Florida law, the Collier County Canvassing Board will conduct a manual audit of the election at the Supervisor of Elections Office on Tuesday, September 9 at 10:00 a.m. The manual audit is open to both the public and media for observation.
The audit requires that the Canvassing Board randomly select a race and precinct to be manually audited. At its meeting today, the Canvassing Board randomly selected the School Board District 5 race and Precinct 189.
