Collier County, Fla. - May 2, 2014: The Collier County Canvassing Board met today and certified the official results of the US Congressional District 19 Special Primary Election. All absentee and provisional ballots cast in the election have been reviewed by the Canvassing Board. The results include ballots cast provisionally, by mail, and in person during Early Voting and on Election Day.
Of the 54,140 voters eligible for the Special Primary Election, 37% cast ballots:
- 9,655 ballots cast by Absentee/Vote by Mail
- 4,163 ballots cast by Early Voting
- 6,440 ballots cast on Election Day
- 30 ballots cast Provisionally
TOTAL: 20,252 ballots cast
In compliance with Florida law, the Collier County Canvassing Board will conduct a manual audit of the election at the Supervisor of Elections Office on Wednesday, May 7 at 10:00 a.m. The manual audit is open to both the public and media for observation.
The audit requires that the Canvassing Board randomly select one precinct to be manually audited. At its meeting today, the Canvassing Board randomly selected Precinct 475.
