PUBLIC NOTICE: CITY OF MARCO ISLAND ELECTION – NOVEMBER 5, 2024
The City of Marco Island General Election will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, for four seats on the City Council. The term of office is four years. The polls will be open between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. In order to qualify as a candidate for the City Council, a person must be a resident of the city for at least one year prior to qualifying and a qualified elector of the City. Candidates shall qualify by petition by electors of the City equal to one (1) percent of the total number of City electors registered in the last general election. Each candidate's nominating petition (presented to the Collier County Supervisor of Elections no later than 12:00 noon on June 18, 2024) must be accompanied by a certification of the Supervisor of Elections that the candidate had sufficient petitions signed by qualified voters of the City and the certification must be submitted to the City Clerk before the close of the qualifying period

Candidate qualifying will be held from 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, through 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at City Hall at 50 Bald Eagle Dr., Marco Island, FL 34145 by appointment only (call the City Clerk’s office at 239-389-5010).

La elección general de la Ciudad de Marco Island se llevará a cabo el Martes, 5 de Noviembre de 2024, para cuatro escaños en el Concejo de la Ciudad. La duración del mandato es de cuatro años. Las urnas estarán abiertas de 7:00 a.m. a 7:00 p.m. Para calificar como candidato de el Concejo de la Ciudad, la persona debe ser residente de la Ciudad de Marco Island por lo menos un año antes de poder calificar y ser elector calificado para la Ciudad. Los candidatos calificarán por petición de los electores de la Ciudad, equivalente al uno por ciento (1%) del número total de electores de la Ciudad ’s, inscritos en la última elección general. La petición de nominación de cada candidato (presentada al Supervisor de Elecciones del Condado de Collier, a más tardar para las 12:00M del día 18 de Junio de 2024), debe ir acompañada por la certificación del Supervisor de Elecciones, en la cual se indica que dicho candidato tiene suficientes peticiones firmadas por votantes calificados de la Ciudad, y la certificación debe ser presentada al Secretario de la Ciudad, antes del cierre del período de calificación.

La calificación de candidatos se llevará a cabo de las 8:00 a.m. del Martes, 16 de Julio de 2024, a las 5:00 p.m. del Martes, 30 de Julio de 2024, en el Ayuntamiento, ubicado en 50 Bald Eagle Dr., Marco Island, FL 34145, solamente con previa cita (llamar a la Oficina del Secretario de la Ciudad, al número 239.389.5010).
