Collier County, Fla.— November 10, 2018: Florida Secretary of State Ken Detzner has ordered a statewide machine recount of three races: U.S. Senate, Governor, and Commissioner of Agriculture.
These recounts will occur simultaneously with the machine recount for the Collier County Judge, Group 2 race ordered by the Collier County Canvassing Board.
Per Florida law a machine recount will be ordered if a difference of less than one half of one percent of votes cast for an office exists between candidates.
All machine recounts must be completed by 3 p.m. on Thursday, November 15. A manual recount could then be ordered if a race has a difference of one quarter of one percent or less following the machine recount.
Per Florida law all recounts must be complete by noon on Sunday, November 18.
The Canvassing Board will conduct a Logic and Accuracy Test of the vote tabulation equipment to be used in the machine recount at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, November 12. The recount will begin immediately after.
The recount will occur at the Supervisor of Elections office, 3750 Enterprise Ave., Naples, FL 34104.
The public and media are invited to attend all Canvassing Board meetings and to observe the Logic and Accuracy Test and recount, which will take place at the Supervisor of Elections office: 3750 Enterprise Avenue, Naples FL 34104.
